McKendree Responds to Military Tuition Assistance Suspension with 25% Discount

(Lebanon, Ill., March 13, 2013) — In response to the federal government’s recent announcement of the suspension of Military Tuition Assistance (TA), McKendree University has taken immediate action by offering a 25 percent tuition discount to those affected.

“We realize the suspension of TA took many by surprise and has caused a difficult situation for those wishing to continue their education,” said Sally Mayhew, vice president for administration and finance at McKendree. “In order to help active duty military members stay in school, McKendree is offering a 25 percent tuition discount to those who lost this benefit through Sept. 30, unless tuition assistance is reinstated before that time.”

For details, stop by the McKendree University Center at Scott Air Force Base, located in the Education Center in Room 81, or call (618) 744-9321.

“Our staff will be glad to discuss other forms of financial assistance that might be available to you. We can help you apply for financial aid. We will do this with you in person or you may apply by filing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA),” Mayhew said. McKendree’s school code 001722 must be listed on the FAFSA application in order to process financial aid promptly. Military students may be eligible for the G.I.
