This is Me: McKendree Show Choir Spring Finale on May 4 at the Hett
(LEBANON, Ill., April 11, 2019) — The McKendree University Show Choir will present
its inspirational spring finale show, “This is Me,” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May
4 at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts on campus. Admission is free but reservations
are required; call the Hett box office at 618-537-6863. Donations will be accepted
for the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
The ensemble will perform songs about empowering individuals and reinforcing self-confidence.
These include such favorites as “Sing!” by Pentatonix, “Rise Up” by Andra Day, “You
Will Be Found” from “Dear Evan Hansen,” “Perfect” by P!nk, “Make Them Hear You” from
“Ragtime,” “This is Me” from “The Greatest Showman,” and others.
The Show Choir is directed by Dr. John McDonald, assistant professor of music education.
Student performers are Ifeolu Adeoye, Grant Benham, Ellie Birkner, Alecia Chestang,
Christopher Fernandez, Grace Gehner, Kendra Gibbons, Nick Glass, Kara Grafton, Ellen
Hoffman, Katy Lahm, Zaynah Lehman Dodd, Sadie Rice, Kristen Rogers, Riley Wallendorff
and Kaleea Washington.
Open to any McKendree University student, Show Choir provides those from all majors
and backgrounds an opportunity to sing, dance and grow as performers. It also provides
a network of peers that students can connect with, go to for support and strive together
toward a common goal. The ensemble features singing and dancing at the highest level
in a diverse range of repertoires and styles. Show Choir Scholarships are available
to students of all majors.
