‘Ramble into Spring’ Road Race in Lebanon on March 22
Lebanon, Ill. — McKendree University in Lebanon, Illinois, will host its next road
race on Saturday, March 22, 2014. The sixth annual McKendree “Ramble into Spring”
consists of a 5K run-walk, a 10K run or a 10-mile run. All three events start at 8
a.m.
The 3.1, 6.2, and 10-mile courses begin at the center of campus and travel through
historic downtown Lebanon. The 5K route then goes to Lebanon’s Horner Park and returns
to the finish line on campus. The 10K and 10-mile races wind through the rolling,
scenic, rural landscape of northern St. Clair County and also finish back at McKendree.
Registration is $15 in advance or $20 on race day. Register in person on campus at
the Intramural Gym located in the Melvin Price Convocation Center; mail in the downloadable
registration form at www.mckendree.edu/raceday; or register online (for a small fee)
at active.com. Mailed entries must be postmarked by March 18.
Short-sleeve T-shirts and post-race refreshments will be provided while they last.
Medals and trophies go to age group and overall winners. All registered participants,
12 years old and younger, receive “Finisher” medals. The McKendree “Ramble into Spring”
is one of nearly a dozen sanctioned St. Clair County “Get Up & Go!” Cup events.
