McKendree University Students Hosting 5K Run/Walk in Support of Local Non-Profit

(LEBANON, Ill., March 27, 2023) – Seniors in McKendree University’s sport management program are hosting a Race for Love 5K run/walk on Sunday, April 16 at 8 a.m. The race will begin and end at The Hettenhausen Center for the Arts on campus. There will also be a bounce house for children on the day of the race. Proceeds from the race will benefit Leaps of Love, a non-profit organization in Highland, Ill., that helps families affected by childhood cancer.

Registration is $25 for the public and $15 for McKendree students. Online registration will close at noon on Wednesday, April 12. Interested racers may register in-person at the Hett between 7 and 7:45 a.m. on the day of the race. All entrants will receive a race t-shirt; however, shirts are not guaranteed after March 31. Established in 2010, Leaps of Love helps families who are dealing with childhood brain tumors, late-effects of childhood cancer and pediatric predisposition syndrome.
