Recycle Electronics and Metal at McKendree on Nov. 17
(LEBANON, Ill., November 4, 2016) — The McKendree University Green Team will sponsor
an electronics recycling event on Thursday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Look for
the recycling truck parked in the lot across Summerfield St. from the softball field,
beside the Fitness Center on the east side of the campus.
Anything with a plug will be accepted, as well as all computer parts, and metal items
such as lawnmowers, motors and metal office furniture. TVs that are plasma or tube
(not flat screen) and CRT computer monitors will be charged $.45 per pound. Larger
TVs and projection TVs will be charged $.50 per pound. They will be weighed on site.
Fees cover transportation costs because the TVs must be shipped for recycling.
The event is sponsored by the university Green Team and J & C E-Recycling of Belleville.
