McKendree University's RN to BSN Program Ranks Fourth in Illinois in 2023

(LEBANON, Ill., May 9, 2023) – McKendree University’s RN to BSN program is included among the top five institutions of higher learning in the state of Illinois, according to Registered Nursing. The university was listed as fourth in the website’s 2023 Best Online RN to BSN Programs in Illinois. It is also the only RN to BSN program south of Springfield, Ill., to make the list this year.

“We are honored that our online RN to BSN program has been recognized by Registered Nursing,” said Dr. Richelle Rennegarbe, professor of nursing and director of the DNP programs at McKendree University. “We have excellent academic-practice partnerships and pride ourselves in supporting registered nurses with gaining their BSN degrees, as well as MSN and DNP degrees.”

As the healthcare industry shifts its focus to higher quality patient care, many registered nurses feel the need to continue their nursing education. Illinois is a great state for nurses who have previously completed an Associate’s Degree in Nursing to pursue a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing.

Schools of higher learning throughout Illinois were ranked according to accreditation, the availability of online programs, the variety of nursing programs offered, acceptance rates, graduate rates and more.

Faculty in McKendree’s RN to BSN program provide students with a supportive educational environment in which students receive exceptional instruction. Accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, McKendree’s RN to BSN courses are offered in an eight-week format. Many students can complete the nursing program in as few as three semesters. Graduates may choose to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing degree (MSN) in an area of expertise such as nursing education, nursing management and administration, or population health. Graduates may also attain a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), which prepares nurse leaders to work at the highest level of their specialty practice and serve as ethical leadership champions within their practice.
