Athletic Scholarships


Athletic Scholarships are awarded in varying amounts to selected men and women based upon athletic ability as deteremined by the appropriate coach and availability of funds.  Contact the individual coach in each sport for more details.

 

Bearcat Support Scholarship

Harry M. Statham Legacy Scholarship


Awarded to the grandchildren, children, or siblings of McKendree University alumni.  The scholarship is awarded at the time of admission and the relationship must be indicated on the application for admission.

 

Debate (Forensics) Scholarships


Debate (Forensics) Scholarships are offered to selected first-year students intending to participate in the McKendree Forensics Team. Contact the coach of the program, Mr. Joe Blasdel, for more details.


Model UN Scholarships


Model UN Scholarships are offered to selected students who have participated in Model UN activities on campus. For more information.

 

Spirit Scholarships


Spirit Scholarships are awareded to select students for participation in the cheerleading, dance team or mascot programs.  Contact the individual coach for more information.


Band Scholarships


Band Scholarships are awarded for co-curricular participation in band. Auditions for these awards may take place within a scheduled campus visit. For more information.


Visual and Performing Arts Scholarships


Scholarships are available in the areas of art, dance, music and theater.

Art Scholarships
Eligibility: Students must submit a portfolio (digital or hardcopy/actual) and interview with the art faculty. A letter of recommendation from an art teacher is also required.

 

Dance Scholarships
Eligibility: Students must audition for the Dance Instructor.

 

Music Scholarships
Eligibility: Students must audition for the Music Faculty.

 

Theatre Scholarships
Eligibility: Students must audition and/or interview with the Theater faculty.

The 117th Regiment Cyber Defense Team Scholarship


Awarded to select students interested in inter-collegiate competition focusing on the operational aspect of managing and protecting an existing network infrastructure. Students must have a passion and understanding of cyber security.


FIRST Scholarships


FIRST Scholarships are awarded to first-year students who have been actively involved with either a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) or a FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) team at some point during their high school career. For more information.



John Wesley/Methodist Scholarships


John Wesley/Methodist Scholarships are awarded to selected students who have a $500 or $1000 scholarship from their church. (McKendree will match these awards with either a $250 or $500 scholarship).

 


United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF)


United Methodist Higher Education Foundation (UMHEF) provides scholarship aid for United Methodist students attending the 123 United Methodist-related schools, colleges, universities, and seminaries in the United States. Our scholarship programs include Foundation Merit Scholars, United Methodist Dollars for Scholars, and a number of other scholarship funds established by private donors, most notably the Bass, Morton, and Dickey scholarships, and several new funds that will be awarded for the first time in 2007.
