Smoke Free Illinois Act
Effective January 1, 2008, the Smoke-Free Illinois Act will “…prohibit smoking in
a public place or place of employment or within 15 feet of an entrance to a public
place or place of employment.” In compliance with the Act, McKendree University has
placed approved ‘No Smoking’ signs at every entrance. The Act also includes provisions
which could result in fines for anyone caught in violation.
