Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education/Director of Choral Activities

McKendree University, located in Lebanon, IL, invites qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education/Director of Choral Activities.  This position is an on-campus, full-time tenure track position set to begin in Fall 2025 and is eligible for a competitive compensation and benefits package. Qualified candidates with All But Dissertation are welcome to apply at the Instructor, Non-Tenure Track level.

Responsibilities include teaching choral music education classes, conducting the Concert Choir and Chamber Choir, and engaging in community outreach/recruiting.   

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Candidate with a doctoral degree in Music Education, Conducting or related field
  • Minimum three years of successful K-12 teaching experience
  • Commitment to training teachers
  • Demonstrated success as a recruiter
  • Experience with building professional relationships with K-12 music educators

FLSA Category: Exempt

Salary Range: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00

Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
