Percussion Ensembles
Evan Hinds - Percussion Instructor
The Percussion Ensembles at McKendree are open to all percussion students. Performance opportunities include:
McKendree University Drumline and Band, Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Concert
Band, and Jazz Ensemble.
The McKendree University Percussion Ensemble presents material ranging from the early
1930's to contemporary literature, traditional transcriptions, and adaptations, and
original compositions. The students represent a variety of academic areas across campus.
The Band Drumline is an important part of the band. Comprised of percussionists, as
well as Music Education majors, the ensemble serves as a learning environment for
all involved.
The Drumline rehearses 3 days a week with the band, as well as sectional times scheduled
outside of the rehearsal schedule. The line consists of Basses, Snares, Tenors, and
Cymbals.
The Drumline performs at all home football games with the band, as well as other special
events through the year.
