Blome Joins McKendree University as Executive Director of Kentucky Campuses
Louisville / Radcliff, Ky. — McKendree University has hired Christian Blome as the
new executive director of its Louisville and Radcliff, Ky., campuses. He succeeds
Dr. Darrel Hardt, who assumes directorship of the university’s doctoral program at
the Lebanon, Ill., campus.
Blome was previously the director of admissions at Vincennes University in Vincennes,
Ind. During his tenure, the university set a Vincennes campus 20-year enrollment record
in 2010 and an all-time institutional enrollment record in 2012.
He received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Southern Indiana,
a master’s in public service administration from the University of Evansville, and
is currently a Ph.D. candidate in educational leadership, higher education administration
at Indiana State University.
“Christian Blome brings extensive knowledge, significant experience and a record of
success to McKendree University. He is an excellent addition to the McKendree family,”
said Dr. Joseph Cipfl, dean of the graduate schools, who oversees the operation of
McKendree’s Kentucky campuses.
“I consider it a blessing to join the McKendree University family and work with an
incredibly talented team in Kentucky,” Blome said. “I am excited about the future
of the Kentucky campuses and continuing the tradition of providing a quality educational
experience to outstanding students.”
He is married to Emily (Smith) Blome, originally from Scottsburg, Ind. The couple
has two children: Carter, 4, and Lainee, 3. The family will reside in Scottsburg.
McKendree University’s Kentucky campuses offer undergraduate degrees in business administration,
marketing, accounting, management, human resource management; computer information
systems, information technology and nursing. Master’s degree programs are offered
in business administration and nursing, with concentration in management and education.
Classes begin each month in four- to eight-week formats at Louisville and Radcliff.
