National Ad Awards for McKendree Website, Hett Center Publicity
Lebanon, Ill. — McKendree University’s website and the publicity for its performing
arts series have received awards in the largest education advertising competition
in the country.
The 27th annual Education Advertising Awards, sponsored by the Atlanta-based Higher Education
Marketing Report announced the awards on Mar. 1. Promotional materials for the “McKendree
Presents” season at the Hettenhausen Center for the Arts, designed by The Birne Group
of St. Louis, received a gold award in the total public relations campaign category.
The university received a bronze award for its website, mckendree.edu, which was redesigned
in 2011 by the St. Louis firm VividSites. McKendree’s “Make Your Mark” image ad campaign
received merit recognition.
Over 2,900 entries were submitted to the competition from more than 1,000 colleges,
universities and secondary schools from all 50 states and several foreign countries.
Gold awards were given to 201 total institutions. The panel of judges included higher
education marketers, advertising creative directors, marketing and advertising professionals
and the editorial board of the Higher Educational Marketing Report.
