McKendree University Celebrates Academic Excellence on April 23
(LEBANON, Ill., April 7, 2015) — McKendree University’s second annual Academic Excellence Celebration (AEC) will showcase the scholarly and creative work of more than 400 undergraduate
students on April 23 at the Lebanon, Ill., campus.
Classes will not be held, so that students, faculty, staff members and guests may
attend concurrent sessions featuring capstone projects, research poster presentations
at Holman Library, an art exhibit at the McKendree Gallery of Art in downtown Lebanon,
or music, dance and theater performances.
“The Academic Excellence Celebration allows our students to present, perform and exhibit
academic projects that they have developed throughout the year,” said Dr. Christine
Bahr, provost and dean. “We will gather to celebrate our students’ learning and achievement
across a wide range of academic disciplines.”
The Honors Convocation will recognize graduating students for their academic accomplishments
at 1 p.m. at the Hettenhausen Center. Several honor societies will also induct new
members as part of the AEC event.
