McKendree BBA, MBA Programs Continue to Meet SHRM Standards
(LEBANON, Ill., March 23, 2017) — The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)
has acknowledged that McKendree University’s undergraduate and master’s degree programs
in business administration have renewed their alignment with SHRM’s HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates.
SHRM has acknowledged 448 programs at 337 educational institutions throughout the
world as being in alignment with its suggested guides and templates. It developed
the HR Curriculum Guidebook and Templates to define the minimum human resource content areas that should be studied by students
at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The guidelines—created in 2006 and revalidated
in 2010 and 2013—are part of SHRM’s Academic Initiative to define HR education standards
taught in university business schools and to help universities develop degree programs
that follow these standards.
“McKendree’s undergraduate and graduate Human Resource Management programs help students
develop the skills necessary to be a successful HR leader and strategic partner in
today’s complex business environment,” said Dr. Roxanne Beard, director of the MBA
program at McKendree University. “Our courses provide in-depth coverage of key HR
functions such as talent management, employment law, global HR strategy, internal
consulting, change management, and leadership. Students develop real-world skills
through simulations, case analyses, and exercises.”
McKendree University offers its Bachelor of Business Administration and MBA degree programs at its campuses in Lebanon, Ill., Radcliff and Shepherdsville, Ky., at the Center
for Scott Air Force Base, and through McKendree Online.
The BBA degree program offers a broad understanding of business operations with an
intense focus on human resource management (HRM). In addition to the MBA degree, an
MBA-HRM Concentration is offered, consisting of 12 courses that provide students with
specialized knowledge and skills focusing on human resource management.
