McKendree University Online Event Celebrates Academic Excellence
Students Share their Scholarly and Creative Work Online at the eAEC
(LEBANON, Ill., April 20, 2020) — McKendree University’s seventh annual Academic Excellence
Celebration (AEC) on April 23 has moved online in 2020 to an electronic format called
the “eAEC.” While on-campus events have been suspended during the coronavirus (COVID-19)
pandemic and spring semester instruction has moved online, the university remains
committed to its students and is proud to share their outstanding scholarly and creative
achievements.
“This year’s event will again demonstrate the accomplishments, creativity and resilience
of our students,” said Dr. Christine Bahr, provost. “We look forward to re-connecting
with them throughout the world for this electronic celebration of academic excellence.”
Many McKendree students have submitted video presentations including honors theses,
research, artwork, and a debate discussion to a publicly accessible website. A link
to each will be posted on the McKendree website’s AEC page beginning at 8 a.m. CDT on Thursday, April 23. Viewers may click and watch at their
convenience. The webpage will remain active through June 30.
The university’s Merit page will also include stories of various achievements, searchable by student name
or activity, including eAEC presenters, honor society inductees, outstanding accomplishments
in academic disciplines, and more. Scroll down the Merit page and click on a student’s
name or a story headline to read more.
Visit the eAEC page for more information about the event or to watch a video of a
previous on-campus Academic Excellence Celebration. Be sure to follow this year’s
eAEC on Facebook and on Twitter at #McKAEC2020 to share feedback, questions and comments.
