Grant Helps Fund McKendree University Mobile App
(LEBANON, Ill., September 8, 2017) - A $60,000 grant from Campus Consortium will enable
McKendree University to develop an official mobile app through the technology provider
Unifyed. The grant will cover mobile app licensing and development costs.
The new app will include public information such as campus news, emergency numbers,
events, social media, parking, dining, a directory, athletics and maps. It will also
include the ability for students to register, see grades and class schedules; and
access social networking, including Facebook and Twitter. The app has a tentative
release date of mid-October.
“In today’s hyper-connected age, having a well thought out and executed mobile app
goes a long way for attracting and retaining students and employees,” said George
Kriss, director of information technology at McKendree University. “By working with
Campus Consortium, this allows us to fulfill our strategy of offering the best system
and services for our community.”
“Our Campus Consortium Grant Committee is proud to present this grant to McKendree
University for Mobile App,” said Anjli Jain, Campus Consortium chairman. “The mobile
app solution provides out-of-the-box integration and increases engagement, in addition
to the beauty of adding new features on the go. We believe this will be a great opportunity
for McKendree University to grow and we wish them all the luck.”
