Symphony Ensemble Presents String Quartet Sampler on Nov. 14
Free Concert at McKendree University’s Hett Center
(LEBANON, Ill., October 18, 2016) — Beethoven, Brahms, Mozart and more—a Saint Louis
Symphony chamber ensemble will perform a guided sampler of great string quartets on
Nov. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at McKendree University’s Hettenhausen Center for the Arts.
Erin Schreiber and Jonathan Chu, violins, Beth Guterman Chu, viola, and James Czyzewski,
cello, will perform a program of select movements from works including:
- Mozart String Quartet No. 23 in F major
- Beethoven String Quartet in B flat major, Op. 130
- Debussy String Quartet in G minor
- Dvořák String Quartet No. 12, American Quartet
- Brahms String Quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 51
Admission is free and open to the public. The Russel E. and Fern M. Hettenhausen Center for the Arts—“The Hett”—is Southern Illinois’ premier performing arts venue, presenting world class dance, drama, classical music and jazz.
