McKendree University Awards Peyton Osgood with Technos International Prize
(LEBANON, Ill., May 17, 2023) – Peyton Osgood, an Honors Program student from Oak
Lawn, Ill., is this year’s recipient of the Technos International Prize. The award
was presented on Friday, May 12 during the undergraduate commencement ceremony, where
Osgood graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology with minors in history and clinical and counseling psychology.
The Technos International Prize is given each year by the Tanaka Ikueikai Educational
Trust for outstanding academic achievement and a commitment to the cause of international
understanding. Osgood accepted the award amid a wild round of applause from peers,
faculty and family members alike.
At McKendree, Osgood was a member of the concert band and wind ensemble for all four
years, a UNI 101 peer mentor, a student success mentor, a professional and engaging
communicator, and an intellectual leader on campus. During the summer of 2022, Osgood
was chosen to receive a Fulbright-Mitacs internship to conduct research at Toronto
Metropolitan University, formerly known as Ryerson University, in Toronto, Canada
for 12 weeks.
In April, Osgood was recognized by the university for outstanding academic achievement
in psychology. Osgood is also a member of several honor societies, including Phi Eta
Sigma Honor Society, Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society, Psi Chi Honor Society, Phi Alpha Theta
Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Following graduation, Osgood plans
to move to California to pursue a master’s degree in school counseling.
