Drum Corps International (DCI) - St. Louis

This year's show includes performances by: Colt Cadets, Shadow, Legends, Music City, Pioneer, Jersey Surf, Genesis, Spirit of Atlanta, Colts, Mandarins, Crossmen, Madison Scouts, Blue Stars, The Cadets, Phantom Regiment, The Cavaliers, Boston Crusaders, Bluecoats, Carolina Crown, and the Blue Devils.
Formed in 1972, Drum Corps International (DCI) is the non-profit governing body for junior drum and bugle corps in the U.S.A. and
Canada. Junior drum and bugle corps are musical marching units consisting of brass,
percussion, and color guard performers 21 years of age and younger. Competitive corps
prepare a new show each year, approximately 8–12 minutes in length, and refine it
throughout the summer tour. For six of the world class performing corps, DCI St. Louis
is part of that tour.
Each competitive event operates similarly to a high school marching band competition with shows performed on football fields and judged in various musical and visual categories, or "captions". Competitive junior corps spend roughly 8–10 weeks on tour, practicing and performing full-time as they work towards the weeklong culminating event of DCI World Championships in August.
