Dr. Nancy S. Ypma, Director of Concert Choir & Chamber Choir
A 30-40 voice ensemble directed by Dr. Nancy S. Ypma, this choir is open to all singers. Each semester the Concert Choir performs major works ranging from the Baroque era to the 21 st century. In the past the choir has sung works by Vivaldi, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart, Schubert, Britten, Michael Hurd and John Rutter among others. The choir has presented concerts featuring music from operas, classical masterpieces, and Broadway musicals. The choir often performs with an orchestra or chamber ensemble. This course may be taken for 1 or 0 credit and students may use this course to fulfill their General Education Fine Arts requirement. A select ensemble, drawn from the Concert Choir membership, is directed by Dr. Nancy S. Ypma, and performs vocal chamber music from all time periods.
