McKendree University Celebrates Academic Excellence on April 27
(LEBANON, Ill., April 28, 2023) - McKendree University students presented their research,
creative talent and collaborative work at the tenth annual Academic Excellence Celebration
on Thursday, April 27.
A total of 211 student presenters and participants, supported by 29 faculty and staff
sponsors, took part in the event by discussing or exhibiting academic posters, projects
and performances they have worked diligently on throughout the school year. Classes
were not held during this day so that students, faculty, staff members and guests
alike could attend sessions featuring honors theses, capstone projects, research posters,
an art show, honor society inductions, and a choral performance at the Hettenhausen
Center for the Arts.
The full day of events included:

78 research posters in Holman Library

23 presentations in Piper Academic Center and two pre-recorded presentations

A student art exhibit at the McKendree Gallery of Art

A student choral concert at the Hett
-
12 honor society induction ceremonies in the afternoon and evening
The campus community capped off the event with a reception at 1828 Cafe on campus.
