Social Greek Organizations
The Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life is a department within the Division of Student
Affairs. The Coordinators work closely with chapters and serve as Advisors to Inter-Greek
Council. The role of the staff is to provide support for students in recruitment,
event planning, educational programming, social events, and philanthropy events. The
staff also serves as facilitators and educators for members of the fraternity and
sorority communities through a variety of workshops and retreats.
The mission of the McKendree University fraternity and sorority communities in conjunction
with the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life is to better integrate Greek-letter
organizations with one another, and to promote fraternity and sorority life on and off the McKendree University campus.
At McKendree University, our community prides itself on being engaged with the campus
community, giving back to the local and surrounding communities, focusing on high
academic performance, and gaining leadership skills. It is important individuals within
our community live up to the values of their organizations through their daily interactions.
The vision of the fraternity and sorority communities is to provide an environment for students to fully develop into excelling
members of society. Through expanding their social networks, members of the fraternity and sorority communities learn to develop lifelong friendships through loyalty and dedication
to one another while strengthening their character.
Inter-Greek Council is the governing body of the fraternity and sorority communities. McKendree University has chartered five Greek organizations.
