Andrew Wagner is Our Student Laureate
Multitalented senior Andrew Wagner—who excels in public speaking, Model UN, music and Spanish—is our 2018 Student Lincoln
Laureate. The Lincoln Academy awards the State of Illinois’ highest student honor
for leadership, service and excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.
“Andrew possesses intellectual talent, has an outstanding work ethic, and is a consistent
and thoughtful leader, making him a model student,” said Dr. Christine Bahr, provost.
The honors program student from Waterloo, Ill., is an international relations major with minors in speech communication and Spanish. Andrew is captain of the speech
team and secretary-general of Model United Nations, winning many awards for forensics
and Model UN. He is the mellophones section leader in the Marching Bearcat Band and
French horn section leader in both the Concert Band and Wind Ensemble. The past president
of Alpha Phi Omega service fraternity has also volunteered to teach Spanish at Trinity
Lutheran School and to coach mock trials at St. Louis-area schools.
