Technology and Training

We seek to increase the value of online learning by improving our technology infrastructure and by increasing the knowledge of our faculty and staff about effective online education. McKendree will maintain its educational relevance and increase enrollment by giving faculty and staff the tools and skills needed to offer students a high-quality online learning experience.

 

Goal 1: Enhance Information Technology (IT) communication with university divisions and departments.

 

• Increase communication between faculty and IT by having members of IT regularly attend division and department meetings.

• Implement specific IT solutions based on needs assessment. 

 

Goal 2: Prepare the University’s technology infrastructure to support future needs.

 

• Allocate resources in the 2022 budget to improve campus fiber line and upgrade networks to accommodate technology expansions.

• Allocate resources in the 2022 budget to expand the Help Desk system and support staff.

Goal 3: Establish standards of practice for online learning and train faculty and staff on the standards.

 

• Develop comprehensive, University-wide standards of practice for online learning and course development.

• Integrate standards of practice into the requirements for online course templates.

• Train faculty and staff on the standards of practice for online learning and course development.
