New Degree Programs and Majors

The University’s newest degree programs and majors combine innovation and flexibility with the personal attention and small faculty-student ratio for which McKendree is known.


4+1 = 2 Degrees in 5 Years

New 4+1 programs make it possible to earn a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in five years. Graduates of the bachelor’s degree business program enter a one-year, accelerated MBA program. Another 4+1 program will enable students to earn a BA in sociology and an MA in criminal justice. These options allow students to maximize their time and tuition dollars, and to enter the workforce with a master’s degree and greater earning potential.


Master’s in Criminal Justice

In the criminal justice master’s program, Dr. Jennifer Webster and her faculty colleagues teach McKendree Online students and those in the classroom simultaneously. While some students pursue their degree fully online, others take classes on campus as well as online. This approach to instruction offers a convenient alternative for adult graduate students who need flexibility.


BA in Musical Theatre, Division of Visual and Performing Arts

Musical Theatre majors can grow their creative abilities in the dramatic arts; gain experience in singing, dancing, choreography, acting and production; and participate in all aspects of theatre at the Hett. Master classes with touring performers and McKendree alumni offer unique learning opportunities to gain advice from current professionals in the field.


BBA in Entrepreneurship, School of Business

Entrepreneurship majors learn the latest theories, strategies and guidance they need to create and operate a successful business. Students create a comprehensive business plan tailored to their professional interests and gain skills and experience at every level: raising venture capital, assessing risk, evaluating competition, managing employees and daily operations, and making executive decisions on finance and sustainability. Practicums provide on-the-job experience in an actual entrepreneurial setting. as small business owners themselves, award-winning faculty members bring valuable firsthand experience to the classroom.
