Sophomore Superheroes Win 'Justice League' Prize
Kyle and Cole Nordmann walked the red carpet as grand prize winners of an all-expenses paid trip to the
world premiere of “Justice League” in Los Angeles in November. The identical twins
from Belleville, Ill., and three Althoff High School friends won a nationwide “League
Up” contest sponsored by Warner Bros. and DC Comics.
The three-round contest brought the spirit of five superheroes to life. Kyle and Cole’s
team formed a league, with each member exemplifying qualities of Wonder Woman, Cyborg,
Batman, Aquaman or Flash. Kyle chose Flash for his courage and drive, while Cole,
a computer science major with a 4.0 GPA, chose Batman for his determination and intelligence. They hosted
a superhero-themed event for first graders at Paul Dunbar Elementary School in East
St. Louis, Ill., with activities focused on anti-bullying, science, and environmental
awareness. The contest winners were determined by DC All Access app votes and a panel
of judges.
